In support of Play the Recorder month, the Atlanta Recorder Society hosts a Consort Day every March, where recorder players of all ages and skill levels from around the region are invited to come and perform individually or as part of a consort.
The next Consort Day is Sunday, March 18, 2018, in the sanctuary of the Church of the New Covenant, which is located at 3330 Chestnut Drive, Doraville, GA 30340, from 3:00 p.m. until approximately 5:00 p.m.
If you and/or your group would like to perform, we would love to hear you play. We accept solos and groups of any size, as long as at least one person is performing on a recorder (sorry, no unicycles this year). Performances should be kept to 10 minutes or less. To register as a performer please contact Mickey Gillmor, include the name of your group, the names of the people performing, the title and composer of your piece and/or pieces, and the approximate length of your performance. The deadline for registering as a performer is 5:00 p.m. on Monday the 5th of March.
Even if you do not wish to perform we would love to have you join us as the music is sure to be enjoyable and the performers will appreciate your support. This concert will be part of the Church of the New Covenant’s “Concerts with a Cause” series. Voluntary donations made during the event will go to support a local charity.
