Mid-Winter Music Workshop 2024
The 20th annual workshop with early and newer music for Recorders, Brass, Viols, and other “early” instruments was held Friday evening, January 19th through Sunday morning, January 21, 2024 at Dickerson Middle School in Marietta, GA, and was a great success!
It was sponsored by the Atlanta Early Music Alliance (AEMA) and the Atlanta Chapter of the American Recorder Society (ARS-Atlanta), and supported by regional members of the Viola da Gamba Society (VdGSA).
Faculty: Our faculty was Holly Mauer (recorders, viols), Pat Petersen (recorders), Jody Miller (recorders, renaissance flutes), Anne Timberlake (recorders), Gail Ann Schroeder (recorders, viols), and Stewart Carter (brass and louds).
Workshop Format: The Workshop opened Friday evening with an all play session. On Saturday, we had of a variety of topic-based sessions, followed by an all winds session and an all viols session. We closed on Sunday morning with another all play session.
The 2025 Workshop will be January 24-26. Registration and session information will be available November 2024. We hope to see you there.
