Save the Date! The 23nd annual workshop with early and newer music for Recorders, Brass, Viols, and other “early” instruments will be held Friday evening, January 22th through Sunday morning, January 24th, 2027 at Dickerson Middle School 855 Woodlawn Dr. NE, Marietta, GA 30068.
It is sponsored by the Atlanta Early Music Alliance (AEMA) and the Atlanta Chapter of the American Recorder Society (ARS-Atlanta), and supported by regional members of the Viola da Gamba Society (VdGSA).
Faculty: The workshop will feature sessions taught by Stewart Carter, Caleb Jackson, Holly Maurer, Jody Miller, Pat Petersen, Brittany Salkill, Gail
Ann Schroeder, and Anne Timberlake. Instruments covered include recorders, capped reeds, early brass and open reeds (loud band), viols, and Renaissance and Baroque flute.
Workshop Format: The Workshop will open Friday evening with an all play session. On Saturday, we will have a variety of topic-based sessions, followed by an all winds session and an all viols session. We will close on Sunday morning with another all play session.
